As I started to read this paper, I wasn't to excited to read it. I liked the description but that was all. As I continued to force read this paper I started to enjoy it more. While I was reading I found myself thinking, "What's going to happen next!" This is an excellent example of how to use mood in a paper and write it well. It goes from a child just playing around catching fish, into a hobby that they now enjoy and continue to do still to this day. The author also put in some shocking things such as ," That week my mom got a call from one of the neighbors that most of the boathouses had been burglarized and irreplaceable lures had been stolen." This was a shock to me because I thought, "Who would do such a thing," but then realized people can be jerks sometimes.
My first impression of this paper just wasn't to excited, just more of a hurry up and read it and move on. Then as I moved through it I actually got "hooked". I felt almost if I had been there with them and was experiencing the same feelings as them. I'm happy to know that it was "Just a phase" and that now they continue this phase on.
